Happy Birthday, Josh!

This past Wednesday was my sweet, not-so-little, brother's 15th birthday! I can't believe he is already 15, shouldn't he still be 5? That's how I still think of him sometimes.

I was able to meet my family for dinner at Red Lobster to celebrate. It was nice to be able to be together on his birthday, especially since I'm at school during his birthday month.

I enjoyed being able to hear all about his drivers ed test and him driving around town. Like I said how in the world is he already behind the wheel?

Opening presents in the trunk of the car.

My gift to him a baseball bag that is a back pack, the boy loves some baseball!

Daddy told him he had got him a t-shirt for his birthday... a free one mind you... Josh went along with the joke and thought it was funny!

His real present, a catchers mitt he has been wanting for a long while.

It was time to head back home and school, for me. I got to see Josh get in the drivers seat for the first time! Legally, anyway!

I had a great time eating with my family on Wednesday and celebrating the big 1-5!

The Calm Before the Storm

Lately, I've been thinking, which is good trust me, that I'm kinda in a time of complacency in my little ole life. I'm at a point right now where everything is just going good, everything is working in my favor. I'm so happy with where I'm heading and where life is taking me.

This scares me. Not in a fearful type of way. I just know that, normally, when all aspects of life seem to be fine and dandy, something is going to rock the boat. So to speak. It's bound to happen. And I'm okay with that. Oddly.

I don't have a hint as to what might do the rocking, I hope its not something major, that's all I know. It could be school and the endless amount of tests that are coming my way. It could be finding a new campus ministry. It could be anything really.

I know that I'm not really itching to go to VCM anymore which I know isn't good and I'm thinking that it may be time to move on to a different place. I'm listening, it's hard, but it's not. I don't feel like I have any connections to VCM anymore, except a select few. Well maybe one good friend. It's just a weird feeling that I've never really felt before.

I think I'm really growing up and becoming my own person this year. I've changed. My attitude and personality have gradually changed a little. I'm really working on bettering myself. I am really focusing on spending just a few minutes here and there throughout the day being quiet and focusing on Jesus. And no one even knows I am which is the best part!

I want to soak in all the time I have right now with my nursing friends. I really am realizing my world is going to be rocked come May 10th. I will be a graduate of ECU CON. Crazy. I don't want to leave these people, but we must go out into the world and be the nurses and people we are called to be.

Lauren is getting married in 10 months. How? My best friend is marrying her best friend. I know that once she is married, we won't see each other that much. I hope we can at least get together every other week but who knows. That's a sad thought for me. We have seen each other so much the past four years, she has truly become my family.

I'll be another year older this month and I just don't want to get older. Why can't I just stay like this forever. I think that although I'm extremely comfortable in this phase of life right now, that something is going to happen that is really great because I'm getting older. I'm one year closer to meeting my husband. That's the one thing I can't wait for. I can, but I can't. But I also don't want to look back at this time and think why was I so worried about getting married. So I'm trying to control my thoughts about my future, not just getting married and think about now. Because in this season RIGHT now, are the best years. We have to always live as these are the best and only years. Soak it all up. Soak it up, all of it.

The Beginning of My Last School Year

My co-pilot when I headed back to Greenville, I needed emotional support. haha!

------------

What a perfect devotional before the first day of school!

------------

Well, my last first day of school has come and gone, I have 245 days until graduation! I have hit the ground running because in nursing school you get assignments before school even starts, so you really don't have a choice. But so far, so good!

This year just seems so much different to me because it's almost like everyone knows that our time is coming to an end. I don't know how to describe it, there is just a different feel your senior year of college carries that none other do..

I am really dreading having to leave my nursing friends at the end of the year so I'm trying to soak it all up now!

Our first last day!

Everyone needs a little froyo to get them through the first week of school.

 ------------

I had a little problem with my car before school started. I was out and about in town and I had locked my doors (like always, don't try and get in my car :)) and went to unlock my car but the key wouldn't turn. I called the campus police to see if they could unlock my car for me but I finally got my key to unlock the doors. Praise the Lord! I called my daddy and he suggested getting a new key made at the Toyota place so I, like most times, did what he said. My new key worked like a charm! But look at the difference between the two, no wonder the old key didn't work, they don't even look alike!

------------

We ate at Japan Inn and it was a good little dinner, Kris was playing around with chop sticks while I was spilling hibachi sauce on myself, out of the take out box. Lovely, Lauren wouldn't let to go in any stores, I had to sit in the car after that! I don't really blame her, I would have hated to be seen with me too! Typical Brittany move...

-------------

I cooked a pinterest find one night and it is a keeper and pretty simple too! Delish!

------------

I clearly love monogrammed things! My two favorites!

------------

We finally went to the pool after living here for over a year and it was so nice! I will definitely be back next year!

------------

That's the long and short of the past month, not too exciting but just how I like it!
